For tax firms and broker offices. Every case needs documents, and someone has to collect them.

A free AI workshop at your office. Four hours with Nicolai Schmid.

Nicolai Schmid comes to your office and goes through your workflows with you and your team, using typical cases from your day-to-day work: what the system can take over and what stays with your team. The workshop costs you nothing and commits you to nothing.

How it works

  1. Beforehand, in the chat

You answer a few questions about your firm. That way the workshop is prepared before it starts.

  2. The reply

Nicolai Schmid reviews your answers and lets you know by email whether and when a visit fits.

  3. Four hours on site

Nicolai Schmid goes through your workflows with the people involved, from intake to approval.

  4. Afterwards

You know which workflows are worth starting with. Whether and how to go on is your decision.

The system prepares. Your team decides.

Every workflow starts in approval mode. Anything that leaves the firm is approved by someone on your team; anything unclear reaches the responsible person with context.

  • Requesting documents

    The system

Builds the list per case, client or bank and requests exactly what is missing.

    Your team

    Decides what a case needs.

  • Intake and matching

    The system

Recognises documents from email, upload and portal and matches them to the right case.

    Your team

Resolves matches the system cannot make with certainty.

  • Checking completeness

    The system

Checks against the case's checklist and spots missing details and contradictions.

    Your team

    Judges special cases.

  • Following up

    The system

Drafts follow-ups in your firm's voice and keeps at it until everything is in.

    Your team

Approves every follow-up before it goes out.

  • Status questions

    The system

Answers recurring questions about the status from the case data.

    Your team

Takes the conversation as soon as advice is needed.

Workflows from the table

How we start. One workflow first, measured in your firm.

  1. Analysis

We look at one workflow in your firm: volumes, people involved, systems, limits.

You receive: The current workflow, the target workflow, baseline figures and a recommendation for the first pilot.

  2. Pilot in approval mode

We build the workflow in your systems. Your team approves every step that leaves the firm.

You receive: A running workflow with checks, a log and before-and-after measurement.

  3. Ongoing operation

MODUS runs, monitors and improves the workflow. Exceptions go to the responsible person.

You receive: Ongoing measurement of turnaround, follow-ups and exceptions.

  4. Further workflows

Proven workflows are connected, for one team or the whole firm.

You receive: Further workflows with the same approvals and the same log.

The analysis starts with your workflow. Describe it here.

The approach in detail

Control stays with you. Every step can be traced.

  • Approval before sending

Follow-ups, replies and submissions go out only once someone on your team has approved them.

  • A log for every case

Every action is recorded with time, source and result. Errors can be traced back to what caused them.

  • GDPR and professional rules

Processing under a data processing agreement and a confidentiality undertaking. Your professional duties define which data the system sees.

  • Your systems stay

DATEV, your broker management system, platforms and inbox stay as they are. The analysis defines how the workflow connects to them.

What must not go out without your approval?

We build businesses where AI performs the operational work. Starting with our own.

Founder of MODUS

Nicolai Schmid built and led the AI engineering team at apex, the AI unit of COSMO CONSULT: multi-agent systems, evaluation frameworks, inference infrastructure. Today he owns the product architecture of COSMA. In the first conversation, you talk to him.

“The model is rarely the problem. What matters is whether something in the workflow catches the error, whether a person clicks at the end, and whether the expert understands what is happening.”

What would you like to know about MODUS and Nicolai Schmid?

What firms and brokers ask us first.

How do you handle confidentiality and data protection?

Professional rules and the GDPR define what the system may process. Data stays in your systems or is processed under a data processing agreement. Every action is logged, and every step that leaves the firm needs approval. We put this in writing during the analysis, before anything is built.

Do we have to change our software?

No. The workflow is built around your existing systems: practice software, broker management system, platforms, document management and email. The analysis defines how it connects to them.

What does it cost?

A one-off fee for setup and integration, plus a recurring fee for operation, monitoring and improvement. You receive the concrete proposal after the analysis.

Where do we start?

With a workflow that comes up often enough to measure and is narrow enough to put into operation quickly. Typical ones are receipt intake, the documents for a financing, or follow-ups with clients. The analysis selects it.

What happens when the system does not know something?

The case goes to the responsible person as an exception, with context and a proposal. When an exception repeats, we improve the rules, the context or the checks.

Your question is not listed?

Which workflow costs your team the most time today?

That is what the first conversation is about. Afterwards you know whether an analysis is worth it.
